We are proud to share that the Medina of Tangier has been officially recognized as the 447th International City of Peace in the world.
This honor was made possible through Project Hayat (meaning Life in Arabic), a community-led initiative born out of our deep love for life and all living beings. From caring for animals and children to preserving dignity and safety for all, this project embodies true Peace in Action.
The nomination was submitted through the International Cities of Peace, an international organization that supports cities taking real, measurable steps toward building cultures of peace.
Tangier’s Medina now joins a global family of cities committed to compassion, coexistence, and collective care.
